Waitlisting for room requests
If a location is already reserved for a specific time, allow users to continue to request it and track the order in which requests were received.

Lynn ClementsThis would be helpful on our campus for widely used locations.

Julie HoyenskiThis could be really helpful for some of our high demand spaces - as long as it is clear to the requester that the space isn't currently available and they are wait listed.

VictoriaThis is a feature we are missing big time. It is very helpful for high demand spaces as mentioned previously but also allows us to quickly book a new client in a space after a previous one cancelled.

Dana Bonifacio-SampleAgree that this would be a huge asset with high demand spaces. I think it would be a great tool to then run a report on to show the demand for a room adding to documentation to prove need for more locations, renovations, etc.

Megan BladowIf a waitlist is possible, would it also be possible to use that feature for requests for spaces that are not yet open to schedule? I.E. Certain rooms have Academic priority, but after a certain date, they become open for other events around the academic schedule. Right now, the requests sit in our tasks until the specific date we can start to schedule them.

Kimm Thiboldeauxyes my community would like this .. they are currently following the event confirmed in a space/time/date they want and when they get a cancel notice submit ... if there is an easier way (limiting the communication off following an event) they would love this!
I also like the *can request out # days (like you can apply to event wizards ) Some locations we can only process 18 weeks out on
Others we too are putting on academic holds (classrooms) adding can or cannot request timelines would also simplify these efforts. -

Aja VogelmanWould also be helpful to track things in various state of pending. Holds vs Inquiries, etc. on the rental user side.

Pamela MasonI like the idea of being able to have wait lists. It think it is important to consider some things related to this.
1
- We would not want to allow this on all spaces
- How would you maintain if someone no longer should be on the wait list. If it requires too much manual maintenance then it is not helpful.
- In Event Form or availability Views how would it be clear that they were going on a Wait list. If not very clear then it would result in a lot of unhappy basic users.
- Do you even want it to be something people can request to be added to through Event Form or something else, or would it be something restricted to schedulers/approver to be able to do.
- This kind of related to location preferences. So having people be able to select preferences for for locations and those tie into Wait lists if first option not available. Then notification email could go to scheduler if 1sy choice becomes available for their event. -

Jana LelmWe currently use this in our EMS system for highly used spaces and our guest rooms. It is so helpful so I don't have to keep my emails or a separate waitlist. Our guest rooms are generating revenue. We also use this for our fleet vehicles which are also revenue generating. People cancel reservations all the time and this is just really helpful. We are going live in Sept. 2024 and would love for this feature to be available.
