Ability to reference searches in event form Rules
Some rule parameters could be based on objects that change frequently, like our roster of student organizations. I will have to update any rules that include this set of Orgs as the Source Type whenever new Orgs are added or updated.

Leonard BrettonI can see real use for this. We have specific rules for student clubs and when when a new club is added these organization needs to be added to each rule. Having the rule check an Organization Search would be ideal.

Ayo BondThis would be amazing for location searches as well. As new buildings come online and primary "ownership" of space gets re-arranged, it would be great to be able to update a location search and have the rules follow spaces which they are applicable to.

Roseanne ShawIt would be great to be able to create an event form rule based on organization type or organization search, particularly for student organizations. Since we have hundreds of student organizations it is onerous to select them all for a rule, and also would be hard to manage (have to edit the list of organizations to add or remove them regularly).
There are also hundreds of a particular room category (general classroom) that poses the same challenge for setting up rules.
The event form rule I would like to create would be to generate a notification task for the events services staff whenever a particular type of organization (student organization) requests a particular category of classroom (general purpose classroom). -

Megan Parravano MergedThis suggestion should be expanded to include ALL selection options in the rule settings like the locations and resources so that it pulls in these items based on search parameters, instead of selecting each item separately. As noted in the original comment, it is highly tedious to maintain rules when you cannot select the parameters to be based on an existing search and instead have to select each item individually. It is also hard to remember to update every single rule when something new is added or changed.

Megan ParravanoThis suggestion should be combined with "Event Form - Rule for Primary Organizations: Allow Selection by Saved Search" suggestion since they are both requesting the event form rules to be based on search parameters instead of specific items.

Aryn Taylor MergedRight now, event form rules can only be tied to specific orgs, not the primary type. Some of the org types are stable lists, so this doesn't cause any issues, but for rapidly changing lists (student organizations) it's not feasible to be constantly updating the list of orgs that would trigger a particular rule. Since different types of orgs require different review processes, limiting review by org type would greatly decrease burden on event reviewers.

Dawn PustelnikYes, PLEASE. If conditions based location, resources and organization could have the option to add a category instead of having to pick individual locations, resources or organizations OR make the condition based on the current results of the search not the options when the rule was created. To continually have to be aware if a new organization is created and if any rules need to be updated is extremely onerous and full of opportunity for error.

Reservations ManagementThe time it takes to add a new organization to each rule is INSANE. The ability to set conditions based on organization category would help immensely. Please consider/implement this update SOON! Grateful for the ongoing improvements.
