Ability to make "Show Blackouts" on calendar views the default
Chabot-Las Positas find that their users forget to check the box to "Show Blackouts" on the calendar views. To mitigate this, they would like to have the ability to have that be a configurable default.

MorganOur users also often forget to check the box to show blackouts on the calendar view. We would also like the ability to make that feature a configurable default.

Kelly SchulteYes! Please! With COVID, we are placing the blackout dates on many of our rooms, including our school owned lab spaces. The college is attempting to lock down rooms that do not have a class or a 25Live event scheduled in them by a certain date and then locking them down for the remainder of the term. This assists with the 7-8 different departments that work with setting up 'social distance' layouts. Having the blackout dates selected as a default will eliminate the oversight by class schedulers.

Elizabeth HirschMadison College has had to heavily implement blackouts during the pandemic as a way to reduce space usage and create a safer and easier to maintain environment. It is a constant struggle to remind class schedulers to look for blackouts when they are selecting rooms. Having it default to being checked would save everyone a great deal of confusion and stress.

Bonnie HendricksonIt's harder to train people to remember "to do something" than it is to set it up so they are reminded "to un-do something".
Making blackouts visible by default reminds them they can remove blackouts. -

Mark SchroederI have heard from a number of users who are confused by conflicts with something they cannot see. I often have to remind them to check the "Show Blackouts" box before searching through the Calendar view. Making the Blackouts show by default would make things easier to see and lessen user confusion/frustration. It also makes things more transparent (which is always a good thing). I also completely agree with Bonnie Hendrickson's point above. Please make the Show Blackouts box automatically checked off by default.
Cheers,

Pamela MasonI would prefer that anything that impacts the availability of a resource or location be visible by default. This is an ongoing issue that people miss seeing those check-boxes. They just don't look for them. They are assuming that everything is already showing on the calendar. The setting should be based on the norm which is they need to be seen not very few users that don't want to see them. Which is very very few in our case.

Tammy MillerI have a feature request somewhere that asks for this ability (control visibility of blackouts) for embedded calendars. It would be useful for 25Live calendar views as well.
