Different security groups based on context
Right now there is only an option for one event form configuration per security group. It would be good if a user had the ability to choose between multiple forms with different fields, based on the kind of event they wanted to request.

Bonnie HendricksonI would like to use this to differentiate between members in the security group - ones who approve locations and those who don't.

MIchelle Bright MergedAs we continue to greatly expand the use of this product across our system, it is becoming apparent that there is a need for a user to have access to multiple Event Forms or Security Groups. For example, on one campus they wish to leverage FSG (versus a generic placeholder user) to allow faculty/staff to have access to a highly customized Event Request form for Special Events--whereas the Library (future development) would like to have a highly customized Event Request form for their spaces. In the current setup, we would have to hybridize the two forms, which does not serve either very well. In our previous scheduling system, this was allowed by having a FSG be able to select which event request form they would like to fill out. Any other suggestions on how to accommodate this would be great.

Pamela MasonIs see it as Event Form selected first and Event Type are allowed by Form. Things like what sections appear and the field headers and help text are only controllable at the From level. If we can set forms are usable by Security Group and what Event Types are usable by Event Form that give us a lot more flexibility. For example the Event Forms we want are,
Simple - exclude most sections and limit to only a few Event Types.
Date or Deadline - Would not include Additional Time, Categories or Locations. Default to one Event Type
Complex - Would have all options.
Course Related - Restrict to the Event Types that are for manually entered Course Related events that are different field headers and help text because the information we want is very different on certain fields.
Edit Banner Course - Exclude form section we don't want them to be able to edit because they come from Banner. We want to allow people to add Resources to their Courses, this would allow that. -

Julie HoyenskiYes, please! Our forms and workflow system are in development and it's already clear that the ability for users to choose among forms would be a huge plus.
Our primary form will be for complex events that require resources and services. Like Pam, we also need one for Course Related "events" that are simple space reservations, as well as other special use forms. We also have schedulers playing dual roles in the system (scheduling vehicles and make event/space requests).
Another downside to embedded forms is the lack of system contact verification. One typo in a Custom Attribute question and notification scenarios don't go as planned.
