Express scheduling for Resources

We would like to be able to use Resource in our Housing office to checkout things like vacuums. In these cases we don't really need a room associated or a lot of info. What is more important is the ability to quickly check them out. If we could Express schedule Resource this would be really useful. I can think of some cases for other departments that this could be useful as well.
