Suppress Repeat Event Option
We have an embedded event form that will only be used to request Resources. We don't want to the requestor to be able to create repeating events for their requested resources and would like to restrict them to creating single events of the duration required, whether the event begins and ends on the same day or the events begins on one date and is contiguously reserved until the end-date (example: reservation times run from Friday at noon through Monday at 4pm).

Mike C (CollegeNET) Admin MergedCreate a way to suppress repeat dates in the Event form by security group. This will also combine the date/time editor with the repeat date editor.

Walt M (CollegeNET) Admin MergedAnother use case for this feature is the ability to suppress repeat dates on embedded forms. Offered by EWU via Functional Support. Thanks for the suggestion!

Karen King MergedI agree with EWU request for the ability to suppress repeat dates based on embedded form. Perhaps there are times that a security group should be able to use repeat dates, but not in certain instances or for certain locations.

TammyThanks, Mike C. and other schools! This ability will be very useful and extremely important for many different implementations of the event form, especially those that deviate from using this format for standard on-campus "events".

Pamela Mason MergedA lot of people are intimidated by the length of the Event Form. We want things to only show when selections are made that make them useful or necessary. The section pictured below is only needed if the event will repeat. There area a lot of events created that do not repeat and this just take up a lot of space. Putting it in a drop down like the Additional Time would be another good option. This should be in the Event Form Configuration as it's own section that can be renamed, have it;s own help text, be required or not included.

Bonnie HendricksonMight be a dumb question but is it possible to make this possible by some other function than security group? That is very limiting as long as a user can only be in one at a time. Can it be connected to a special event type, something that can allow a user to do that in addition to regular scheduling use? We're Shibboleth so we can't create a lot of task-specific security groups with a non-specific generic user log-in.

TammyTo tag onto Bonnie's comment - one of our embedded request forms is open to non-signed in users. If suppression of repeat events is controlled by security group, then I'm very concerned that the implementation will not work for our intended use. Thanks for listening and please let me know if you have any questions! Perhaps I've overthought this: As the open-to-all web form is tied to a user identity, and that user identity is within a security group, then suppression by security group should work for our intended function.
