Locations - Overriding Hours and Blackouts by Security Group
Current behavior is controlled by group at the Functional Security (FLS) level, but more granular control would allow the "owners" of a location to override the restrictions, while not allowing approvers of other locations to bypass the restrictions as well.
This expands on the idea that approvers of one location are still requestors of another - and limiting rights to override safeguards on locations they request is solid business practice.

Mike C (CollegeNET) Admin MergedCreate a control on blackouts that determines whether a specific blackout applies on per security group basis. Essentially, this would be OLS on blackouts. This would allow for a very nuanced control for schools with multiple request groups and/or scheduling offices.

Sabrina ShepherdThis is along the lines of something I need, hopefully if this request is completed it would address the issue I'm having. Location approvers need to be able to book last minute requests for their space, but I don't want them to be able to do that for EVERY space. As the system is currently, it seems as though the only option is the date buffer for each security group but it applies to all spaces and not just the spaces that the security group is responsible for.

Rebecca Wagner MergedResurrecting this feature request; I love the idea of having blackouts apply or not apply to specific security groups - as an example, we do not allow student groups to make requests during finals week, but anyone else can do so. Thus, we'd like to create a blackout that applies only to that group.
We'd also like for blackouts to be applicable to certain cabinets. We use blackouts to prevent future term requests during the instructional week, because we allow future term requests for weekend events up to a year in advance. I'd love it if these blackouts could apply only to events cabinet so that we stop getting the blackout warning emails when we're doing routine room assignments throughout our course scheduling processes. -

Pamela Mason MergedI think this is already meet by Functional Security. We don't allow most users to override blackouts but we do allow anyone with scheduler and up permissions. This way schedulers still see the blackout warning so they know they are scheduling during that period and can still continue if they want to. We much prefer this because there is usually other things that have to be done if rooms are scheduled during special periods like holidays or Spring Break.

SteveThis ability form some to override blackout and date/time restrictions is extremely frustrating. If the overrides could be tied to only their owned locations, or a particular event type, or some other way to not allow it on every single location that would be awesome!

Pamela MasonWith the new Tags option if they allowed us to add tags to blackouts to say this is who the Blackouts apply to that would give us a way to do this. If the security group does not have that Tag that is on the the blackout then the blackout does not apply to them.
